Occupational licensing restricts economic liberty and opportunity.  It hurts those trying to earn a living, it restricts options for consumers, and it wastes tax dollars and everyone's time.

A state license is not a guarantee of quality.  Private organizations can provide certification and standards for a profession and the public can choose to use those ratings if they think they add value.
